You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

In 2022, my life collapsed under the weight of complex trauma. I had to quit my job, leave everything behind, and move back home. I was experiencing a level of pain that I'd never known before, and it took everything in me to get through each day.

I was lucky enough to attend a trauma-healing intensive that helped me start to put the pieces of my life back together. Soon after, I began a new life in Nashville, though I was still in immense pain. Every day was incredibly difficult — yet I carried on.

I realized in the midst of that hard time that no medals are given to anyone who has survived the impossible — even if it's the hardest thing you've ever done. There are no badges of honor, no congratulations. So I started making my own. I created designs rooted in strength and resilience — things I could wear to remind myself of how far I've come, and how strong I really was.

Respite Apparel was born from that time of healing. Every tee, sticker, and accessory is a wearable reminder that you have what it takes to carry on. And, every purchase helps fund access to therapy for those who need it most.

Thanks for being here. And if you've survived something difficult too, I'm so proud of you.

Paying it Forward

Respite Apparel is built on the belief that everyone who wants to heal should have access to the resources they need. To help break down financial barriers to therapy, we donate a portion of profits to The Refuge Center in Franklin, TN, who provides low-cost, income-based treatment.
