BORN FROM ADVERSITY
--
In 2022, I watched my life collapse right before my eyes as a result of complex trauma. I had to quit my job and move back home, in a well of deep pain and at a loss for what to do next. I was fortunate to have a few months of rest with family and friends, part of which included a trauma-informed therapy retreat that was a catalyst for deep healing. One of the reasons why I was able to attend this retreat was an available scholarship.
--
Having come from an art and design background, I spent many of those days creating designs as an outlet. I found that much of what I created focused around strength and mental health. Two passions arose out of that time: I wanted others to know that rest and resilience go hand in hand, and for anyone who desires deep psychological healing to have access to the resources they need.
--
I decided to turn these passions into a clothing brand, promoting rest and resilience in brand messaging while donating part of the proceeds to pay it forward to someone else who might need the same help I did. And thus, out of adversity, Respite Apparel was born.
